I spent
the first part of 2002 - and without a doubt had the time of my life - in
Panama, a wonderful country in Central America.
Not really a so-called Third World Country, more of a developing country.
Panama has many wonderful things to offer the American tourist, including
excellent eco-tourism, great diving, thrilling rafting, bird watching, seven
indigenous - and
thriving - native Indian cultures, two oceans (the Pacific and the Caribbean),
mountains, and friendly people, many of which speak English as a second
language. In addition, and perhaps best of all for Americans, the currency
is the U.S. dollar - no confusing exchange rates, and no need to pay fees in
order to exchange
your currency!
Before
I left Panama, I made a trip to Cartagena, Columbia.
Check out my photos of this beautiful city.
Photos of my trip to Panama can be found by following
the individual links to my gallery at Ofoto.com.
Please note that you will need to create an Ofoto account to view photos.
There is no cost to do this. The reason that I use the Ofoto site is
because only having 28.8 (when I'm lucky) modem access, I only have to upload
the photos once, then they can be linked from my web site, and I or you! -
can print them, forward them, download them etc. without having to upload again,
saving lots of time. I appreciate your taking a moment to register so you
can view my photos.
Twin
Oceans Dive Center - An excellent, safe diving outfit. Dive both the
Atlantic and Pacific oceans!
Chiriqui River Rafting - Ditto on the excellent and safe experience - and
all the adrenaline you can handle!
Panamainfo.com - One stop location with all of the tourist-related links for
Panama
Lonely Planet - The best travel guide book/internet combination - period.
Other travel-related sites I have
found helpful:6
Ofoto.com - If you've seen the pictures, you've seen the site. A
great way to share digital photos, and high quality prints direct from Kodak
are only 49 cents/copy.
Amazingmail.com - This is another great site for the digital photography
vacationer. Simply upload your image and your message, and for about 85
cents (including postage) they will print the image as a high-quality postcard
on one side, and your message on the other. A great way to send
personalized postcards at a bargain price!
