This month (March 2003) I lost a longtime
buddy of mine, George. He was a cat that showed up in my life in 1986 and
adopted me. He was 19 when he died of stomach cancer.
Most of the photos I have of George are prints
that are in my storage unit in Oregon. I am grateful to my friend Lynn for
taking these photos of him while she took care of him when I went to Panama.
George was a unique cat; he was very friendly
and tolerant. He loved parties with lots of people and action. I can
remember a Mardi Gras party I had once, with over 50 guests. George
mingled with everyone, unfazed by the noise and commotion. George also
loved music, the louder the better. Often when I had my stereo blasting he
would sit between the speakers, facing them, listening.
George was one cool cat indeed.
I miss him.
