One
year ago Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, LA. As most of you
know, New Orleans (or NOLA) was one of my favorite cities to visit and
party in. I made many annual trips between 1998 and 200, for both
JazzFest and just for fun. These trips often included one or more of
the following friends of mine: Rob, Ray, Craig, and my brother Carl.
When it became clear that our
national government had failed the city of New Orleans a year ago and
that it would be the city most devastated in the history of our country,
I felt I needed to somehow express my emotions at the time. I created a
video/audio montage entirely using photos that I had taken during my
trips there.
Unfortunately I could not figure
out how to load and display this file on my web site. With the first
anniversary of the Katrina disaster, and the lack of progress that has
been made, it stirred up my feelings and I did some research into how to
display this file. The file is to the right and is a streaming video;
you need not wait for the entire video to load; just go ahead and hit
the "Play" button. You can also right click to increase the size.
To Carl, Craig, Rob, and
Ray: We each had great times in New Orleans; I say we need to make a
trip to NOLA for next year’s JazzFest. Anyone else who wants to go just
email me at

and I’ll keep you posted.
